In the spirit of the holiday season, I am taking this week off to spend some time with my family and close friends!
This time of the year always inspires gratitude and reflection, so first of all I want to say thank you again for reading this newsletter and letting me do this work.
Last week I reviewed everything we did this year. It was incredible to look back and see how much progress we have made:
To leave you with something during this week off, here is what I am currently doing:
📚 What I am reading
I am spending a week in southern Italy with my wife’s family, and here is what I brought with me:
📘 The Trillion Dollar Coach — this is the story of the legendary Silicon Valley coach Bill Campbell, who advised the likes of Steve Jobs, Larry Page, Jeff Bezos, and many others. I am reading it for the book club and I will write our own review later in Jan.
📙 Fun Home — this is an autobiographical graphic novel about dysfunctional family life, growing from childhood to adulthood, and self-acceptance. It is earnest, heartfelt, and funny.
🕹️ What I am playing
It’s no secret that I play some games in my (ever-decreasing) spare time. Here is what I have been playing recently:
🐍 Curve Fever — I found this little free game while in search of something quick and funny to play online with my brother. We quickly got addicted to it and now I am spamming it to basically everyone I know.
🏎️ iRacing — after a small hiatus last month, as my Meta Quest unexpectedly broke, I got it replaced and I am now back to sim racing. iRacing is the most popular sim out there, where (if you are really good, not like me) you can hang out with the likes of Verstappen, Alonso, Valentino Rossi, and more. Looking forward to racing more next year.
💭 Reflections
Finally, here are a few personal articles I wrote last year that you may enjoy during this time of reflection and new-year resolutions:
I wish everyone merry festivities and to spend some good time with your loved ones! 🎄
See you next week!
Luca
I subscribed to refactoring recently and enjoyed reading your perspective. Keep it going...
