The Refactoring family is getting bigger! 🚀
A special edition to announce a special partnership
Hey everyone! Today’s piece is a special edition, as I have a big announcement to share, in the spirit of building in public.
I have reached an agreement with my friend Nicola Ballotta, fellow writer at The Hybrid Hacker, to join forces and create a single bigger + better publication.
Namely, Refactoring is acquiring The Hybrid Hacker, and Nicola is going to stay as a part-time author.
I am incredibly excited about this 🎉 for two reasons:
✏️ Nicola is a fantastic author — out of all the engineering writers out there, he is the one who is the closest to Refactoring in terms of philosophy, tone of voice, topics, and even drawings! He has 25+ years of experience in tech, and having him onboard allows us to publish even better pieces by working together on research and writing.
📬 The Hybrid Hacker is an awesome newsletter — it is one of the top publications in our space, with 30K+ subscribers. By working together we are building a larger community of 100K+ readers, creating more value for everyone.
This also marks a first for Refactoring: it is the first time we bring another author on board, and the first time we acquire another newsletter. It feels like a big step, but the synergy is perfect and I am 120% committed to making this a success.
Here are some of my favorite Nicola’s articles:
📌 Bottom line
Our goal for Refactoring is to create the world’s best publication & community about engineering leadership. Working with Nicola moves us closer to the goal, and I am super excited to have him on board! 🚀
On a practical level, as a Refactoring reader, nothing will change for you. We are sticking to the same schedule and same type of content, only better, thanks to the additional smarts of Nicola.
Let’s go! 🚀
Luca
Great tandem!
Brilliant, All the very best!
