Hi everyone!

This is a special post to introduce the new Refactoring Library! It has been rebuilt from scratch and I am incredibly excited to tell you more about it.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ What is the Library

The Library is meant to complement the weekly articles by providing a permanent space where you can go and learn anything in the Engineering domain.

To do so, I obsess over the following qualities:

  • ๐Ÿ” Curated โ€” everything is carefully vetted to include only the very best articles and tools. Each item contains my personal recommendation about why it has been included.

  • ๐Ÿฑ Organized โ€” you are able to find anything you need in a few seconds, thanks to thoughtful organization and lightning-fast search.

  • โšก Up-to-date โ€” content is continuously updated. Obsolete resources are removed and new ones are added every week.

  • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Participated โ€” the library includes the best contributions from people in the Refactoring community.

I built the library to make it a staple of your personal and professional growth. You can check out this welcome video to see how it works ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœจ Features

Letโ€™s talk about what you can do with the new Library, starting with the main features:

Latest content

The homepage showcases the latest articles and resources. You can check whatโ€™s new at a glance, or just browse the content serendipitously.

Instant search

You can search for any keyword and get instant results both from articles I have written and resources I have recommended.

Categories

There are now five main categories of content, that I am going to use consistently across Refactoring.

  • ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Dev Process

  • ๐ŸŽฝ Engineering Management

  • ๐Ÿ”ฎ Technical Strategy

  • ๐Ÿชœ Hiring & Careers

  • ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ Personal Growth

The main sidebar on the left lets you navigate the categories so they are always only one click away.

The Development Process category with the additional topics you can check out.

Topics

Each category has further topics you can dive into. Each topic contains:

  • โœ๏ธ Articles โ€” published on Refactoring. They act as primers for the topic.

  • ๐Ÿ“š Readings โ€” the best external articles to learn more.

  • ๐Ÿ”จ Tools โ€” that may help you with your work. Many of these are also discounted!

In the example below, you can learn everything about estimation & scoping by checking out my own three articles and six other vetted readings.

Deals

You can check all the Refactoring Deals by clicking on the ๐ŸŽ Deals item in the sidebar.

Deals include more than $50,000 worth of discounts, across 20+ popular dev tools. I have personally used each of those tools and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

๐Ÿ”‘ How to access

The Library is exclusive to Refactoring paid subscribers. Paid subscriptions allow me to focus 100% of my time on Refactoring and build the best product I am capable of.

We recently surpassed 400 paid subscribers and I am incredibly grateful for it ๐Ÿ™
