Last week I wrote a piece covering the role of a CTO in early stage startups. At some point in the article, I recommended using no-code / low-code tools to build your product faster and reduce its cost of ownership.

When I talk with startup founders, this is among the top 3 most frequent advice that I give. Likewise, the most frequent answer I receive is: our product can’t be built with no-code.

A good 90% of the times, this is false.

No-code has come a long way to cement itself as a legitimate solution for building things, but most developers and tech leaders still don’t know how to build a lot of basic stuff with it.

About one year ago I wrote an article which listed some of my favourite tools β€” this is a bigger and better version of it, updated for 2022, in which you will find:

  • More tools β€” in the original categories, plus new, relevant ones.

  • Case studies β€” either real companies built with no-code, or how you can build familiar products with it.

Overall, you will find about 30 recommended tools, and more than 50 links. I am not affiliated to any of those β€” these are all recommendations based on my personal taste and usage.

Here is what we will cover:

  • πŸ“ƒ Marketing Pages β€” how to build landing pages, blogs, and the likes.

  • πŸ”’ SaaS β€” how to run memberships, recurring payments, gating content, and more.

  • πŸ›’ Ecommerce β€” how to sell digital or physical products.

  • 🀝 Marketplaces β€” how to create p2p marketplaces, like Airbnb or Fiverr.

  • πŸ“± Mobile β€” how to create fully-functional mobile apps.

  • πŸ”Œ Automation β€” how to connect parts together and remove manual work.

  • πŸ—„ Backend β€” how to model your data, store it, and expose APIs.

  • πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» Internal Tools β€” how to build dashboards, workflows and tools for your operations.

  • πŸ’Ό Agencies β€” what are the best partners that can help you create no-code products that are cheap and easy to maintain.

  • πŸ“š Resources β€” what are the best resources and communities to learn more and find experts.

Let’s go!
